Dry Desulfurization Grinding Mill Selection Guide: Avoid Selection Mistakes and Find the Right Fit

The selection of a dry desulfurization grinding mill directly affects subsequent desulfurization performance, equipment energy consumption, and operation and maintenance costs. Many enterprises suffer from substandard fineness, insufficient capacity, excessive energy consumption, and frequent failures due to improper selection, which instead increases overall costs. Drawing on years of industry application experience, Weifang Peman Powder Equipment manufacturers have compiled this professional selection guide to help enterprises choose the right model from three dimensions: core parameters, operating conditions, and material characteristics.

I. Core Selection Parameters

Grinding fineness: This is the core parameter. For sodium bicarbonate desulfurization, D90 ≤ 15-20 μm is recommended; for limestone desulfurization, D90 ≤ 30-45 μm is recommended. Insufficient fineness directly leads to low desulfurization efficiency and reagent waste, and must be determined according to the SO2 concentration and emission standards in the flue gas.

Processing capacity: Calculate the required desulfurizer dosage based on boiler tonnage, flue gas emission, and initial SO2 concentration, then determine the hourly throughput of the grinding mill. A 10%-20% capacity margin is recommended to accommodate operational fluctuations and full-load operation.

Energy consumption indicators: Give priority to models with low unit energy consumption. Long-term operation of industrial equipment with low-energy design saves a large amount of electricity each year. Also pay attention to motor power and variable-frequency configuration; variable-frequency regulation can adjust operating power according to actual load for further energy savings.

Continuous operation capability: Industrial desulfurization requires 24-hour continuous operation. The grinding mill is required to run no less than 8000 hours per year, and wear-part life must meet standards to avoid frequent shutdowns affecting the desulfurization system.

II. Selection Principles by Operating Conditions and Materials

1. Selection by desulfurizer: For light desulfurizers such as sodium bicarbonate and dolomite, give priority to a vertical classifying impact mill for finer and more uniform fineness; for hard desulfurizers such as limestone and quicklime, give priority to a ring-roller mill or vertical mill for stronger wear resistance and higher capacity.

2. Selection by operating environment: For sites with high humidity, choose moisture-proof and anti-sticking structures to avoid material sticking to the wall and blockage; for high-sulfur flue gas conditions, increase grinding fineness and capacity to ensure sufficient desulfurizer supply; for waste incineration, which requires removal of multiple acid gases such as HCl and HF, give priority to ultrafine grinding models.

3. System integration: Give priority to integrated models that can seamlessly connect with unpackers, conveyors, metering injection systems, and desulfurization reactors to reduce intermediate links, improve the automation level of the entire system, and lower manual operation and maintenance costs.

III. Selection Pitfall Reminders

Do not covet low prices and choose ordinary pulverizers instead of dedicated dry desulfurization grinding mills. Ordinary equipment has unstable fineness, poor sealing, and frequent wear-part replacement, and its long-term comprehensive cost is far higher than that of dedicated models. Also pay attention to the manufacturer's after-sales capability to ensure rapid response for equipment installation and commissioning, wear-part supply, and fault repair, guaranteeing long-term stable equipment operation.
